[0:00:00] Geoff: Hello and welcome to another episode of The Regulation Podcast. This is episode 124. My name is Geoff. With me as always, Eric, Nick, Gavin, and the other one, Andrew. How's everybody doing? Great, thanks. Gavin? Yeah.
[0:00:16] Gavin: What's going on? Oh, are you referring to the fact that I was, I popped in almost late?
[0:00:22] Unidentified: Wait,
[0:00:23] Gavin: you popped
[0:00:24] Geoff: in like a f**kface Gavin popped in with nine seconds left
[0:00:29] Gavin: to go. That was so f**kface. Well, I'll tell you for why. I was about 45% through a poo at 10.57 and I was panicking. I had to rush the end of it. I started the wipes with two minutes to go.
[0:00:46] Unidentified: It
[0:00:46] Gavin: was a touch of go.
[0:00:48] Geoff: Does the podcast trigger your poop response? Um, because you always seem to like run it right up to the wire.
[0:00:57] Andrew: Yeah. It's always like podcast poop for, for Gavin.
[0:01:02] Gavin: Well, I, I was doing a little bit of a sort of behind the scenes work and then I ran out of time for my poo. Usually I like to give a bit of like half an hour probably before the podcast for my poos. I just, I feel like if
[0:01:15] Geoff: Gavin's late, there's like a nine out of 10 chance it's because of a s**t. Yeah. I feel like that's like a Jack going to the dentist excuse at this point.
[0:01:23] Eric: Oh no, that has to hurt. That has to, that has to really cut you to your core. It stings because it
[0:01:29] Gavin: feels true. Yeah. Yeah. I find that offensive.
[0:01:32] Eric: I was really, I was really surprised because this is like Gavin being almost late. This was no pleasantries, no nothing coming in right under the wire is very face. It's just very old school of doing that. But it's also the opposite of what happened earlier this week where me and Gavin were independently both half an hour early to a meeting.
[0:01:51] Geoff: Oh, I've done that.
[0:01:51] Unidentified: You guys
[0:01:51] Geoff: were yelling at everybody in the Slack channel for a second and then you deleted your yell. We were so cute.
[0:01:58] Gavin: I was at the airport. Eric was pretty mad because we, we got there, we got to the meeting at 11, like obviously, you know, and then we were just like, I, I saw Eric in there as the only one. And usually there's a, there's pleasantries going on. Yeah. You can see people's names on Discord before you join. I got in there.
[0:02:13] Unidentified: I
[0:02:13] Gavin: was like, wait, where is everyone? What's going on? And then Eric, as we were talking and wondering where everyone was, Eric was getting more and more annoyed, started typing, typing in the Slack. And then, and then it was like, oh, it's a, it's 1130. And I was like, oh, so I checked the candle. It's like, oh, it does say 1130. And then I said to Eric, oh, it's 1130 every week. Every week. Every single week.
[0:02:39] Eric: It's always been 1130. And then
[0:02:43] Gavin: we both. erupted into not being able to speak laughing and then just both left the discord for half an hour
[0:02:52] Geoff: you left the discord like somebody told a joke and answered in light
[0:02:57] Gavin: but I wonder like I don't think I've ever been early to the meeting and the fact that two of us were what
[0:03:04] Unidentified: happened
[0:03:04] Andrew: oh I've been early
[0:03:05] Eric: to that meeting oh you have by accident absolutely yeah is it because you thought it was 11 and not 1130s 100
[0:03:13] Andrew: % huh I think Jeff and I have both showed up once to a meeting and had the same thing that you two had oh my god
[0:03:19] Gavin: yeah wow so it's the same but probably you both got less mad than Eric did
[0:03:23] Andrew: yeah we weren't mad at all we were more embarrassed everybody and then we realized oh shit it's why do we think that that was months ago though that was maybe a year ago but yeah definitely done that
[0:03:34] Gavin: I think the confusion comes from the meeting being at 1130 but the recordings being at 11
[0:03:39] Eric: yeah everything else is at 11 but 1130 for that meeting has really worked out for us and this is the first time I've ever gone in that early to go all right meeting time I don't know what happened man it was dude wild wild just like where is everyone oh never mind shit I'm I'm sad I miss the anger messages it was just it was so it was so bizarre I like tagged everyone I was just going like what what's happened like where is everyone like what's going on and then just started deleting it
[0:04:17] Geoff: wasn't even yeah you were like hey where is everybody it was like where the fuck are you guys yep dude it was as I saw it hit and then it went deleted I was I was goodbye and then I just saw that I just like a word bubble for like two minutes I waited for it to come in that's pretty funny man
[0:04:34] Eric: how long
[0:04:35] Andrew: were you guys in there before you realized one minute like
[0:04:39] Eric: we it was 1101 and I was sending messages quickly dude it was because we're not like we're very timely this is I really appreciate how timely we are as a show we don't keep each other waiting we're like we're jumping on top of stuff it's it's great I love how on time we are for all of our recordings and everything that we do but like
[0:05:01] Gavin: it is it is great because I remember at roosterteeth I got pretty good at figuring out the exact amount of time to be late by based on previous experiences like million dollars but you can always be 45 minutes later than your call time for that show because chances are you'll get there 45 minutes later and then within about 15 20 minutes they'll be like all right let's uh let's get your makeup or whatever get clothes on or whatever
[0:05:28] Geoff: yeah we're running we're running about an hour late today because gavin didn't show up so it's pushed everything else back but we'll just try to get
[0:05:34] Gavin: it
[0:05:34] Geoff: we'll
[0:05:35] Gavin: just try to rush it through when
[0:05:35] Geoff: he
[0:05:35] Gavin: gets in I can promise you I never delayed that show a single time I could also promise you that during the first 18 of them I wasted potentially 30 hours of my life
[0:05:48] Geoff: I'm not gonna argue with you there I think I did one shoot and I would be commiserate with my experience it was just
[0:05:54] Gavin: a lot of different setups which caused a lot of uh logistics and sitting around the
[0:05:58] Geoff: also the real the real thing about it too is like there is nothing that feels better than being on time and having the the moral superiority to hang over people when they're late like that is like that's like that's what adrenochrome is that's the fucking yeah that's the that's what's really going on that's the that's the power right there you don't want to
[0:06:20] Eric: lose that power of time it's the it's the power of time it is and and I'm very I'm very into that do you gavin and I guess jeff uh miss being on set for that like like having not necessarily like the call times and stuff but like filming and being on set and all of that stuff is that something you guys missed or not
[0:06:40] Gavin: uh go ahead not really I feel like I've definitely done that it was that was a fun show to make though like I enjoyed the actual making it part but just the having to sit about between the the setups was pretty rough especially when a lot of the time I was like five minutes away from the achievement hunter office but I was never allowed to just pop back in and keep doing stuff in there
[0:07:02] Geoff: I hate all things related to real production the for the word set already turns me off if I had my way rooster teeth would have never recorded audio and video separately in a live action way everything would have been done on phones like I I never I never liked any of it I hated every second of it or I shouldn't say I hated it I tolerated a lot of it but I didn't I didn't hate all of it yeah it's not my that's not my speed at all I very very rarely I enjoyed some I genuinely enjoyed some moments in Haunter but they're very they were far few and far between Haunter
[0:07:34] Gavin: was really you got you had to sit on your own a lot in that one though I did
[0:07:37] Geoff: that's fine like that was the best of the best honestly but like live action uh do anything narrative having to read line or like run lines doing I like perform with 30 people looking at you and have to get it right or you're wasting their time meanwhile they're all about to waste your time anyway so what's the fucking matter yeah I I just I'm not built for live action production I've always hated it did why'd you keep pitching of that what'd
[0:08:02] Unidentified: you
[0:08:02] Geoff: say why'd you keep pitching
[0:08:04] Gavin: stuff like weird place and all that was
[0:08:05] Geoff: my job I want to do the best possible I want to do my job that was literally my job they come to you and they say we need a live action show here's the budget give us the best of your ideas that's my job to do that yeah that's uh that makes sense I'm sure quarterbacks don't like getting sacked but they go in knowing it's a part of their job and they're gonna fucking do it
[0:08:30] Eric: yeah but they're not pitching getting sacked they're not going into watch film and going guys guys I got an idea here's my big idea let them hit me as hard as they can over and over sometimes they do Andrew Luck was super into
[0:08:44] Andrew: it and that's probably why he retired as early as he did he famously was like he'd say like go good sack like people that would get him um fuck what was I gonna say I was gonna I had a question oh did did the people know Gavin that you're gonna be 45 minutes light did anyone on the production side know your own internal scheduling oh no you can't you can't let them know because then they'll account
[0:09:07] Gavin: for it
[0:09:08] Eric: I Gavin's right like he's he's right about that they're they will they'll build it in it'll be a whole thing and then you've wasted the 45 like then what's the point because they'll move everything back because they think they're gonna be on time and never once has a production been on time ever
[0:09:24] Gavin: well they're very distracted it's not like I would show up 45 minutes later they'd be like hey I would usually just walk in everyone would be doing all their work and then I would just sit down with someone else who's in it and I'd just be like how long you been here 45 minutes
[0:09:36] Geoff: uh I made a joke earlier about it but Gavin is 125 right that is exactly how it goes you can't get there late enough like yeah that's
[0:09:49] Eric: pretty true I've I've never been part of a production that was just like well okay we said 10 and we're starting it's 10 so let's do it like it's never happened it's just never happened
[0:09:59] Andrew: I scheduled an event once with some friends and I was annoyed with one of them because they made it be earlier than it needed to be out of the fear of it being light and I was like you're you're causing the the scheduling issue you're you're speculating on that somebody would be late so it's early I thought it was like just a scramble to get it organized because somebody wanted it to be an hour early because they didn't want it to run late and it but but they were available at the hour it was supposed to be originally pitched on I was wondering if if there was ever a scenario like that on the production side like fuck Gavin's not gonna be here for 45 minutes or just knowing but it makes sense yeah
[0:10:39] Gavin: I mean you would get a different a different number for each production like Achievement Hunter don't need to uh don't need to allow for any time although if it's a solo recording between me and Michael I could probably be 10 minutes late it's about right
[0:10:50] Nick: hey
[0:10:51] Gavin: hey hey you can still do that does
[0:10:55] Eric: Michael still get up to pee the second you yell a record uh yeah hey oh we're all sitting down here yep and then he sits down for a second then he stands up and I go to the bathroom it's like what we just know every
[0:11:07] Geoff: time you can set your watch to that dude's that dude's dick it's fucking crazy
[0:11:14] Nick: rolling tape here man come on
[0:11:16] Geoff: there's five other people that just sat down okay we all just said and so we just everybody else went in the bathroom a half
[0:11:23] Eric: hour ago yeah play on my phone all right sounds good that's all that's all you can do uh we don't really have anything like that
[0:11:32] Gavin: at this company I don't think no
[0:11:35] Eric: again we're we're we're we're timely but we also don't have larger productions like yeah we stripped
[0:11:41] Geoff: away everything that's not fun about what we do I agree for
[0:11:44] Unidentified: the
[0:11:44] Geoff: most part I mean there are there are some things that aren't fun that we just have to do like accounting but for the most part we I think we if we we got everything as efficient as possible
[0:11:55] Gavin: yeah it's it's crazy to think that this is quite a quite a well-oiled machine it's a funny looking jank machine but it's got oil
[0:12:02] Andrew: no yeah it's I think that's there is oil it's
[0:12:07] Geoff: it's still screw squeaks really loudly but there's a ton of oil the
[0:12:12] Gavin: part of the machine that I'm in has the most friction needs the most oil I think I
[0:12:15] Geoff: agree yeah 100% I uh I was at the coffee shop this morning you know per my usual Thursday routine uh prepping my notes and you know that scene in always sunny when Charlie and Mac are across the Gugino's Italian restaurant from each other and they lock eyes I had that with another person today at the coffee shop and I saw my doppelganger and I became transfixed looking at this other person and I so I took a photo and I'm going to share it with you guys I don't think the other person was fine uh I saw myself and I've never felt more seen and more like I've seen me in my entire life
[0:12:53] Nick: oh this is going to be great
[0:12:55] Geoff: that's
[0:12:56] Eric: me oh you're you're a you're a frog you're a frog chilling this is you in zen mode you're the cassette
[0:13:04] Geoff: frog yeah I'm a little frog with my cute little hips but my feet stuck in the water laid back I think I'm frog from frog and toad actually if I'm uh I think it's the design is pretty dead on and uh yeah I just stared at that goddamn frog in that little pond today for about five minutes and realized what are you doing I was just like I was transfixed by the frog and I realized I was looking back I was looking at myself so you're jeff the frog I am not jeff the frog I didn't make that association at all I'm starting to regret taking the photo you got wasn't yeah I'm frog from frog and toad uh you're which was really's favorite jeff the
[0:13:43] Unidentified: frog
[0:13:43] Geoff: she
[0:13:43] Eric: was a kid you're jeff the frog do you have any age back tips like Gavin not only age back tips how many age did you have
[0:13:50] Geoff: this morning jeff the frog Gavin I need you to send me pictures of your return unit uh no I
[0:13:56] Unidentified: don't
[0:13:56] Geoff: have any eggs today no I'm not jeff the frog it's not a mark the frog thing it's just like the the the god damn it this did not go well I think it's jeff the frog the spirit of that frog is imbued in me we are both chilled that that is a zen frog I'm a zen dude uh
[0:14:13] Andrew: you you lost some zen I'd say when we did the you dead your bodyguard stream the previous Friday I
[0:14:19] Gavin: covered it immediately that's a great and I think Andrew lost a lot of zen I
[0:14:24] Geoff: can have a zen dip but I can and also I'd like to point out I'd like to point out I lost zen when the game cheated and I went back and I watched and it's pretty clear that game oh yeah and killed you got is that where you just died out of nowhere I just died you
[0:14:39] Nick: lost zen a couple other times well
[0:14:41] Geoff: you guys tried to kill me by keeping me pushed in uh pushing me forward into a grenade uh that was frustrating but for the most part yeah no I mean there's some zen dips but it's all about how you recover you know peaks
[0:14:53] Eric: and valleys I had to leave early for uh uh helping some wedding stuff or whatever but I heard that uh the game type we were playing you dead your bodyguard is in fact not real doesn't exist made it up and none of it's right and so what happened what happened the description of the achievement
[0:15:17] Andrew: isn't actually how the achievement works is
[0:15:19] Gavin: what we learned what's the exact description what's
[0:15:22] Andrew: the exact I didn't have it in front of me
[0:15:24] Gavin: uh I
[0:15:25] Andrew: can pull it up please do let's
[0:15:28] Geoff: be factual about this
[0:15:29] Andrew: yeah let's be we got to be very factual there's no indication of even beyond that it is uh kind of a broken thing because beyond so to describe the issues the the concept of you dead your bodyguard whoever you're trying to beat this campaign without dying whoever dies then becomes a bodyguard for those who are still alive however there are levels in which you need to hold x to end the level and in those scenarios only the person who holds x gets credit for the what
[0:16:00] Geoff: I I was told yesterday by someone in my chat that they double checked that and that's not the case that everybody that everybody got credit that they verified themselves over the weekend they apologized and said if that was the case it no longer is that everybody got credit I don't think we have a
[0:16:14] Gavin: sort of evidence of that we
[0:16:15] Unidentified: didn't we
[0:16:15] Gavin: didn't yeah it was something we were told
[0:16:17] Andrew: but a lot of the stuff we were told ended up being right 100 do you have it gavin or do you want me to read it
[0:16:22] Gavin: oh eric posted it complete an entire remix campaign without dying complete
[0:16:26] Andrew: an entire remix campaign without dying there's no specifics of you can play it in co-op so it feels weird that a death would be shared across all things wait is that what it
[0:16:38] Eric: is
[0:16:38] Andrew: yes so if anyone dies nobody gets credit which was somebody brought up in the chat earlier in the run and it was kind of dismissed but they were 100 right well yeah eric dismissed
[0:16:48] Gavin: it as nonsense
[0:16:49] Eric: because that's not what i that we have been playing a an invented game type that i was told this is how it is it's a cool game type though it was a great game type
[0:16:59] Gavin: yeah it was less you're dead your bodyguard and more you're dead we dead yeah
[0:17:04] Andrew: you dead we dead you dead you
[0:17:06] Unidentified: dead
[0:17:06] Andrew: you dead restart yeah so we had to really lock in and it was a thing of like nobody can die and uh we had some death some people died
[0:17:16] Geoff: what it did morph we did change it we did create because because like a phoenix out of the ashes of you dead your bodyguard we created what i think might be maybe not a better idea but on par with that original idea which is you dead your dollar so now from that point on anytime anybody died they have to put a dollar in the freezer because that's where we're going to keep all the money until we decide what to do with it
[0:17:39] Gavin: yeah so far i think nick jeff and myself all technically have a dollar in the freezer yeah i need to put mine in but
[0:17:45] Eric: wait why are we putting it in the freezer gotta
[0:17:47] Gavin: put somewhere yeah
[0:17:49] Eric: it's money what's
[0:17:49] Geoff: the safest place the
[0:17:51] Eric: freezer is the safest place
[0:17:52] Geoff: we agree thanks for saying that nobody looks in the freezer for money no
[0:17:56] Nick: rats can't get it
[0:17:57] Geoff: yeah the rats definitely can't get it so anyway uh now we have a new series called you dead your dollar and uh at some point we're going to figure out what to do with all the dollars that i mostly will come from me i assume
[0:18:08] Gavin: i since we started your dead your dollar i'm just extra pleased that we didn't know about that concept uh while we're playing gears oh
[0:18:16] Unidentified: my god
[0:18:17] Eric: oh my god i'd have to sell my house it'd be impossible i just keep hearing about this
[0:18:22] Andrew: what happened we're traumatized spent six hours in a room trying to kill a boss and uh it was bad and nobody
[0:18:31] Geoff: was to blame we all equally sucked
[0:18:35] Unidentified: yeah
[0:18:35] Geoff: yeah for sure huh it's all equally bad but i do i do think it was equally bad i
[0:18:41] Andrew: do i do agree it was a thing that were like you didn't understand what other people were doing at times not in the sense of like why are you doing it that way but literally like i don't know what their job like i don't know what they're doing over there like gavin run into the corner and i would i had no idea what his role was
[0:18:58] Geoff: yeah like andrew and i were on one side for about three hours and gavin was on the other and i just had no idea what even gavin's side of the map looked like yeah no clue a while yeah but we got
[0:19:07] Andrew: there we figured it out i'm excited for that to come out well one day eventually come out good luck to the editor
[0:19:12] Eric: yeah it's a lot do we just leave it like i guess do we just like leave that like really really long do you try to like yes yeah
[0:19:20] Andrew: it's gonna be really really long but still it's just a lot uh the movie the
[0:19:25] Geoff: movie it's like watching all three lord of the rings back to back oh no you know it can be a really scary and intimidating thing starting your own business we created regulation from the ashes of a previous business and we had to hit the ground running and one of the ways we were able to do that was with shopify e-commerce and merchandise is an important part of any virtually any online business but it is integral to ours as you know we're not just selling t-shirts we're selling gerplers we're selling a piece of the content we're selling the joke that we're all creating together and we take it very we take dumb very seriously that's why shopify is the only e-commerce solution that we would even consider using when we started our company and i'm so glad that we did because it works so well it is so seamless when we have something as monumental as a gerpler drop when we know we're going to be pushing a ton of traffic through our e-commerce store all at once we sleep well at night the night before because we know shopify can handle
[0:20:31] Geoff: it and we know that even dumb guys like us are smart enough to navigate and use it because it is so intuitive and user-friendly it takes so much stress off of our plate i ran the e-commerce department of rooster teeth for many years i went from platform to platform to platform until finally rooster teeth found shopify and that was it we were done from that point on and for every business i create from regulation on i will be using shopify and
[0:21:01] Unidentified: i

[0:21:21] Andrew: we had a thing end yesterday was the final day of our summer movie battle it's over i have a question just relate to it nick gavin did you guys see any movies this summer i feel like you may have but you never reported any of them i thought i did nope no i saw toy story
[0:21:44] Gavin: no i don't think i saw any of them
[0:21:46] Andrew: wow i'm surprised i would go
[0:21:50] Gavin: more if the alamo wasn't a piece of shit
[0:21:54] Eric: why you can just simply watch them at home or on your phone in the bathtub or
[0:21:59] Geoff: go to the movie theater at the mall they have pizza and hot dogs too
[0:22:03] Eric: that's
[0:22:04] Gavin: true pizza and hot dogs gavin i like watching stuff at home these days so do i love it yeah we know pretty clear
[0:22:14] Andrew: love it big fan of it
[0:22:16] Gavin: oh nick has proved you wrong
[0:22:18] Eric: yeah nick has
[0:22:19] Gavin: watched oh my god so how
[0:22:22] Unidentified: so
[0:22:22] Andrew: how can i trust this count andrew yeah i
[0:22:25] Geoff: i
[0:22:25] Andrew: thought you saw it and uh i scrolled through and i didn't see the post on it but
[0:22:30] Geoff: good to know what other posts didn't you see wow yeah did
[0:22:33] Eric: you count my two times getting popcorn outside of the theater yeah did you count my three we can review if there's any disputes we're welcome to go to the chat later
[0:22:43] Andrew: and review
[0:22:43] Eric: wait hang on nick what day did you post that on uh let's
[0:22:50] Nick: see
[0:22:51] Eric: yeah watch detectives the 16th july 6th yep he said watch sheep detectives how how dare it make me feel yeah
[0:23:00] Nick: dude oh yeah i shouldn't feel for sheep what the fuck
[0:23:03] Eric: oh you
[0:23:05] Gavin: felt from that did
[0:23:07] Andrew: you not oh you haven't seen that what do you know yeah you felt i felt the feel was overrated in that movie personally i heard a lot about the feel in that movie and and it is a cute movie but i i did not think the feel was as impactful as i was told it would be i
[0:23:25] Nick: don't know i maybe i felt it because i was watching it with my kid and there's like a neglected sheep kid in the movie oh i think we're talking about different feels did
[0:23:34] Geoff: you do you feel like you neglect your kid
[0:23:36] Nick: no but i'd hate for that to happen to him what was the feel what was the feel
[0:23:41] Andrew: you
[0:23:41] Nick: felt
[0:23:42] Andrew: and it was the confusion there was a character death that i assumed was the feel that most people were referring to i
[0:23:49] Unidentified: mean
[0:23:49] Andrew: hugh jackman hugh jackman yeah people are really sad they're like i thought he was wolverine i thought he was immune to everything but now fucking dead just immediately dead but adamantium or whatever but nope dead adamantium adam adam adam in antimidium unfortunately
[0:24:09] Geoff: in the sheep detectives he was only made of bad adamantium hell yeah hell yeah no that was better than anything you guys had zen gavin agrees zen i'm zen that was great bad adamantium is great that was great
[0:24:24] Gavin: yeah i didn't ruin that i did see two of these
[0:24:26] Geoff: adamantium
[0:24:27] Gavin: i saw the furious and jackass 5 and for some reason didn't see the odyssey i can't i couldn't get tickets for it what i um i had tickets for it and then i went out of town had to cancel them and then i just never never had one never had a slot
[0:24:44] Eric: open up wow that's honestly shocking that you didn't see that's like the most gavin movie that came out this summer oh for sure yeah and it's
[0:24:51] Gavin: imax i even tried to when i was going to england i tried to book it for the imax in waterloo and that was all that was fully booked the entire time i was back like two months after it came out wow
[0:25:04] Andrew: damn do you think anyone tried to sneak into the odyssey via trojan horse like somebody walked in with their own little trojan horse with somebody on the inside to see it
[0:25:14] Gavin: oh that's a great idea little
[0:25:15] Andrew: eyes through the through the horse eyes well the horse's eyes are on the side aren't they yeah you'd have to do them in the front this is a yeah this is a predator horse
[0:25:25] Eric: this
[0:25:25] Andrew: is a horse that's looking for
[0:25:27] Gavin: prey this horse is so mean its eyes have shifted to the front i'm imagining it's so blatant sort
[0:25:34] Andrew: of like how the minions eyes are like you know how big and circular there like just the front of the horse but yeah what eric just posted a horse with very straight looking serious eyes oh my god
[0:25:44] Eric: dude predator horses is crazy i would love to see i would
[0:25:51] Gavin: love to see apex predators of all these different prey animals
[0:26:02] Geoff: i want to see a horse that's also a predator the alien predator and it doesn't exist and i've been googling it and they're like with the mouth can some art somebody talented make them a predator horse people
[0:26:14] Eric: people but
[0:26:19] Gavin: now just look to get different
[0:26:20] Eric: animals
[0:26:23] Gavin: their eyes move to the front
[0:26:26] Eric: the pigeon the
[0:26:27] Gavin: pigeon with
[0:26:28] Eric: eyes
[0:26:28] Gavin: in the
[0:26:29] Eric: front is so crazy
[0:26:34] Geoff: if unsettling
[0:26:37] Andrew: would an alien horse just have a little horse head shoot out of its mouth like what would be the tongue well an alien horse
[0:26:44] Geoff: would yeah probably or it'd have like another dick in its horse dick maybe what
[0:26:51] Andrew: yeah i don't like that wow i didn't realize the trojan horse was an odyssey thing there are a lot of things in fantasy that i'm realizing are from the odyssey as someone who didn't know that like medusa or whatever that's in the odyssey right that's an odyssey thing yeah
[0:27:06] Geoff: i was uh you know you see those tiktoks from like people that are like actually this isn't really true and it was that never actually happened and it was uh i don't know if it was true but somebody saying that the uh the trojan horse thing was barely ever mentioned in the odyssey and it's a real small part of the story and it that's funny really got made bigger over time and may not may have been misinterpreted but
[0:27:25] Eric: uh i just i just looked up at what medusa was from and uh does not specifically mention medusa in the odyssey oh the cyclops that's in
[0:27:33] Unidentified: the
[0:27:33] Eric: odyssey right the the that's true that's less snake hair and more one eye and then like the sirens or whatever yeah they have bugs in that horse no no no no they talk about it specifically where they were like shitting and pissing oh yeah how many how
[0:27:48] Gavin: many people might have been in that horse i don't remember
[0:27:52] Eric: i think i think it was almost like two dozen i think it was like four
[0:27:56] Gavin: score
[0:27:57] Geoff: or something
[0:27:57] Eric: yeah either that and they were in there seven years ago it's fucked up yeah
[0:28:01] Andrew: but you would have been okay gavin because they weren't recording podcasts
[0:28:04] Eric: yeah they should have recorded a podcast
[0:28:07] Gavin: just like the idea of like all right everyone take a shit before you climb into the horse
[0:28:12] Geoff: as soon as michael sits down he's like i didn't think of this
[0:28:15] Andrew: oh everybody move bill forgot the p bill ruined it for everybody
[0:28:22] Geoff: you know there's dudes too that are like it's okay if greg shits his shits aren't bad but steve is not allowed to shit yeah that's you man you're yeah you're steve dude oh i'm aware i'm aware i'm aware i didn't need to throw my name to it i thought it was fine but okay it's specific about it
[0:28:36] Gavin: it was a shit heavy week with the with that diarrhea incident of that thing
[0:28:41] Geoff: what what what the woman who like competition
[0:28:46] Gavin: yeah she just shat all over everything and then won the money then everybody
[0:28:50] Geoff: slipped and fell in her shit oh that's terrible they've changed the rules now nobody's allowed to shit anymore at that competition i don't think that need that's that's a given yeah
[0:29:00] Andrew: apparently it wasn't i think that's sort of common in like wrong long distance running well that just happens it
[0:29:08] Gavin: was i think more that the shit was all over the machines that everyone had to use after and stuff
[0:29:12] Andrew: oh god i didn't i just it was a thing i scrolled
[0:29:15] Geoff: by it affected other competitors ability to continue
[0:29:19] Gavin: oh yeah maybe if you're like outside and you're running a hundred miles then you might expect a little bit
[0:29:24] Andrew: yeah i just thought it was like a marathon type thing
[0:29:26] Geoff: like pretty pretty common like all those tour de france dudes are pissing all over themselves on the bike that that that's pretty common but yeah not really they're not they're not like pissing on their neighbor as they're driving by although if it's not specifically disallowed they should give it a shot maybe
[0:29:43] Gavin: i don't know there's already rules about diarrhea and stuff you like you can't go for a swim but you know it's uh when you say
[0:29:51] Geoff: rules
[0:29:51] Gavin: what do you mean by that
[0:29:52] Geoff: jeff
[0:29:53] Gavin: can never swim again yeah it's i
[0:29:54] Geoff: haven't been allowed to swim in 12 years you never see one of those signs that are at the pool like don't don't swim in this pool if you've got the shits if you've had diarrhea in the last two weeks you're not allowed to swim in this pool is it is on like almost every hotel pool sign oh
[0:30:09] Nick: yeah
[0:30:09] Geoff: really yeah at least in america i've
[0:30:12] Unidentified: never
[0:30:12] Geoff: seen that yeah it's just it just looks like this there might be different diarrhea laws in canada it's just like that i just threw the threw the sign
[0:30:19] Andrew: that's crazy i've never seen that in my life i thought that was a bit i thought that was a joke when it was mentioned earlier in a previous episode that's crazy oh
[0:30:29] Gavin: we already talked about shitting in pools recently
[0:30:30] Andrew: yeah yeah talked about jeff's limit yeah and if he'd be allowed or not right
[0:30:36] Geoff: he's not i'm not but nothing will stop him
[0:30:39] Unidentified: keep
[0:30:39] Geoff: your fucking mouth shut and everybody's gonna be just fine yeah keep your mouth shut there's diarrhea in this pool
[0:30:47] Andrew: not diarrhea in any fucking pools not
[0:30:50] Nick: on purpose i
[0:30:51] Andrew: think you would designate if you're having the piss and shit in a horse there'd be a piss and shit section although 50 people in one horse i don't it's probably not spacious maybe
[0:30:59] Geoff: like the back right leg i would build a little trap door right at right under his tail where his butthole is
[0:31:05] Gavin: i
[0:31:06] Unidentified: was
[0:31:06] Gavin: just gonna say the tail and then all the people would be like man this is realistic yeah what the fuck this is realistic how have they done that that's amazing it's incredible why did they do
[0:31:18] Eric: it yeah it's not how it's more why
[0:31:20] Gavin: oh this this horse had corn
[0:31:23] Unidentified: oh
[0:31:24] Andrew: oh premise of pushing a horse down a beach and there just being a piss trail behind it
[0:31:30] Unidentified: what a gift
[0:31:32] Geoff: was it the sheep or the pig that we had pooped gavin i think it was the sheep the
[0:31:37] Gavin: sheep what yeah uh i don't know we went no we went in the sheep's anus
[0:31:43] Unidentified: what
[0:31:43] Gavin: we had to go up the
[0:31:44] Geoff: poop to get into one of them though we made it we made a giant sheep and a giant pig oh minecraft and you would enter through their anus and one of them pooped yeah we made we made one of them shoot poop out
[0:31:54] Andrew: this isn't an odyssey scenario which jeff and gavin made a pig got it that they had to sneak into
[0:31:59] Gavin: yeah and there was shit in the pig i know it would be the best animal to to hide in
[0:32:05] Eric: oh pig you think pig immediately thought pig yeah immediately elephant spacious oh
[0:32:12] Nick: that'd be big
[0:32:13] Eric: whale yeah but whale fall seems scary like it's eating that guy you know it's true i
[0:32:18] Andrew: love that guy's career so much i'm so excited to find out what happens next to him that is horrible he's had such a generational run of guys that are in weirdly bad spots he did weapons and now he's in resident evil and his next movie is about getting swallowed by a whale like that's just as three different characters going through things oh abrams impressive yes the lead actor of resident evil just a i was trying to think of like another actor that had like a three movie run of dealing with the most insane insane specific odd issues which is zombies and whale swallowing
[0:32:58] Geoff: that's a pretty bad run
[0:32:59] Andrew: yeah
[0:33:01] Gavin: whale swallowing a whale you could just truly not get out of uh through the side but i think a pig i could bust through really yeah you're like i want out of this pig let me out of this pig i think i would just have to turn turn sideways and just go through the ribs yeah
[0:33:15] Eric: oh my
[0:33:16] Unidentified: god
[0:33:17] Gavin: through the delicious delicious ribs
[0:33:19] Andrew: yeah you're
[0:33:20] Unidentified: just
[0:33:20] Andrew: gonna eat your way out yeah i feel like i would more likely escape a whale than a pig personally you could walk out of a whale yeah yeah it's just so big yeah
[0:33:30] Eric: whale fall's gonna suck he just immediately oh man this is stupid and he just gets up and walks out yeah
[0:33:39] Andrew: a pig fall call me it is interesting that whales are like the animal that we've seen people be inside the most well i think it's just because the the biggest animal yeah
[0:33:50] Gavin: not a lot of us have been eaten by like a pigeon
[0:33:53] Eric: well if it had those four if it had the forward-facing eyes we might if it could come and see us it's an exotic bird
[0:34:01] Andrew: doesn't get
[0:34:01] Eric: more exotic than that
[0:34:02] Andrew: it doesn't um yeah okay so nick saw sheep detectives yeah haven't saw jacket i'm excited to talk about these movies when we do we're gonna record the recap after this
[0:34:14] Eric: we'll record a supplemental a recap for uh the summer movie league so if you're waiting to see how all that went down and everything stay tuned we'll have a supplemental out for that very soon pretty soon because we're on top of it i think the 27th it should be out um that's when it's scheduled and it'll be on uh it'll be on youtube it'll be free for everyone it's not gonna be behind the paywall i
[0:34:37] Andrew: also want to give credit to jeff thank
[0:34:39] Eric: you
[0:34:39] Andrew: really it's so good thank you i appreciate that you've been really carrying it over the line we were we're in the i guess getting close to the final stages i'd say you've put so much work in it i
[0:34:55] Geoff: think we're probably like 70% of the way through with it you know uh thank you yeah i've been uh we thought it would be fun after with all the fun of coffee news we thought it would be fun to create our own version of it so i've been building our version of goof news which means you know coming up with fun facts and little bits to write about but also you know ads for businesses that might add that might be interested in advertising and goof news and whatnot and so uh and a lot of those businesses you know you gotta build the business out too you can't you can't just make an ad you gotta you gotta build an entire industry behind it so it's taking a little bit of time but i'm very excited and i think the idea is hopefully we can uh release it online for free obviously for everybody but also maybe like print it some out and throw them in orders or something as we go uh love that it's fantastic i
[0:35:43] Eric: think it's a really good idea i'm very impressed with a lot of the stuff that you have in there where you are you're thinking in like a very you know there's like a narrow lane that you can get in with this where it's like you know i want to mimic this like one to one or whatever you're mimicking it in a way that is so like truthful to this show that when i scroll through it it's so much fun to see i i really really really like it i think it's so cool you're doing a great job
[0:36:12] Geoff: wow thank you very much that was very nice of you all to say i really appreciate it i've had a lot of fun doing it and you guys have helped a lot and so i appreciate it you took a
[0:36:21] Andrew: screenshot from an xbox game i think for an ad and i was very impressed by that nick gave me that that was pretty cool oh that's awesome i was happy to help
[0:36:30] Geoff: was that water park simulator oh uh nick gave me the ad nick gave me a screenshot for uh roadside research i did the one for water park simulator
[0:36:40] Nick: yeah
[0:36:41] Geoff: because you know these are businesses that exist in goof in goof world so i
[0:36:45] Andrew: have a question for you jeff i guess anyone can answer i feel like you're the most qualified have you ever in your time of breaking cards in the break show i opened a box of hockey cards relatively recently and i got a hit i got a massive hit out of it but it's a player that i now hate how do you how do you process that like how i didn't know how to feel
[0:37:11] Gavin: well you should sell it what do you hate them for
[0:37:14] Andrew: ah they they were a canuck and then they demanded out and they've been kind of a mess and then everything they've done since leaving the franchise has uh not been great i got a really rare quinn hughes autograph card he's like one of the best defensemen in the league
[0:37:33] Gavin: yeah flog it
[0:37:34] Geoff: i would say if if he's tied to my team i hold on to it because the team's more important than the player like if it was a celtic i'd probably hold on to it but uh if it's just some dickhead i don't like in theory i would sell it and just try to you know use that money to buy somebody i like interesting okay
[0:37:50] Andrew: it's a funny card because he's not wearing a jersey in it so he got traded mid-season so it
[0:37:56] Unidentified: was
[0:37:56] Andrew: a thing where i was like well if he is wearing the canucks jersey no canucks fan wants him and the team that he's currently on minnesota i don't imagine anyone who is a minnesota fan would want him in a jersey so it's kind of perfect it's him just holding a trophy that's
[0:38:10] Geoff: kind of like how i've been able to get uh all these kind of uh rarer marcus smart cards because nobody wanted nobody wants marcus smart on the washington wizards cards he barely played for them anyway so it's like there's there's no you know i'm not having i'm not fighting people for those it
[0:38:25] Andrew: was just such a conflicting thing of emotion of like oh this is clearly a case hit uh but it's also like i hate this guy i don't like this guy
[0:38:33] Geoff: yeah we've we've unfortunately pulled some case hit level hits on the break show in the past of people who have been very canceled not just unlikable but like oh uh canceled their own value in the card too and you're like well i guess fucking shred this oh
[0:38:49] Andrew: wow it is interesting the idea of i wonder who's lost the most money like what collector or like what collection took the biggest hit via being canceled like there are people that collect certain figures like to me like well i was gonna never mind i'm not even gonna go down that yeah it's like because i
[0:39:07] Geoff: could tell you i could tell you a
[0:39:08] Unidentified: few
[0:39:08] Geoff: but i think we're just talking about it offline
[0:39:11] Andrew: the thing where the person i thought of is part of a sport that i had the general fan base doesn't seem to care about that type of stuff so it's hard to even measure but yeah i
[0:39:22] Geoff: know i know who you're talking about
[0:39:25] Unidentified: um
[0:39:25] Andrew: yeah it was it was conflicting i have another question this one more for everybody music one of the things i love about music is when you listen to it it kind of takes you to a place at least in my experience it's almost time machine like where like there's certain memories you have or like feelings at a certain time where you like remember listening to the song i don't know if i'm alone in that feeling but i i often be like i i this this song makes me think of this or like this period of my life i had an album i really liked and i played it a lot when i was going through like a sad period and now i can't listen to that album i've ruined it for myself oh is there any way to reclaim an album have any of you been able to do this i've
[0:40:09] Geoff: been through this a lot yeah you can do it sometimes you have to take a significant amount of time off i've lost i've definitely lost a couple albums to like divorce you know sure and uh and or a couple of artists where you just like you have so so many memories tied up that it just becomes like you know an emotional landmine listening to songs yeah not necessarily looking for that uh but i think time helps yeah time
[0:40:37] Gavin: just listening to a cover ease you back in oh do you get the same vibe
[0:40:42] Andrew: interesting that's clever i never thought of that i don't know because it would sound different right unless it's a cover where it just sounds the same i hate those covers we're gonna cover something do something unique with the song what's the point
[0:40:56] Gavin: i have i was listening to the land of confusion the other day i think maybe because um eric posted a picture of the music video so then i started listening to it and then i guess i was on some sort of playlist where it just shifted straight over to the disturbed but oh
[0:41:13] Eric: it's so bad you oh listen the land of confusion is a good song with an ugly music video the disturbed version of land of confusion is so fucking bad and it oh god gavin oh my god i listened to it and i was like this
[0:41:28] Gavin: is this some interesting choices of this and now i'll be honest with you in the last week i've listened to that version more than digit the genesis
[0:41:38] Geoff: you're a disturbed guy oh it's just a little bit different is that your favorite cover now
[0:41:42] Eric: hell yeah this is this is gavin listening to it the disturbed music video it's so oh god oh is it animated oh yeah yeah sorry you can squint and look at it i guess
[0:41:56] Gavin: gavin's so edgy which is the uh the uglier video eric this
[0:42:01] Eric: one whoa this one's that's neck and neck dude here's the thing the i can't look at oh god when i just see the fucking genesis like that's so just it's like vile that is absolutely vile are those spinning image puppets oh that yeah that's what it is that's the music video for land of confusion is the spinning image puppets but man when the disturbed one is just like
[0:42:28] Geoff: what's
[0:42:29] Eric: going on jeff it sucks in such a specific way that's
[0:42:33] Unidentified: so bad
[0:42:33] Eric: there are gonna be people who listen to this and i'm making fun of the disturbed music video and they're gonna be so upset that i'm making fun of it but i have no choice i like it's not your fault it's the band's
[0:42:44] Geoff: fault
[0:42:45] Eric: it's it's like for people this music video looks like it's uh it's a cartoon for people who liked spawn but for all the wrong reasons like it's fucking disgusting it's so can we
[0:43:00] Geoff: call this episode the one for people who like spawn but for all the wrong reasons
[0:43:03] Eric: absolutely yep i can't believe you're listening to this the disturbed one so much gavin that's crazy are
[0:43:10] Andrew: there any other disturbed songs in your rotation that you listen to or is it just this yeah
[0:43:14] Gavin: is it gonna open you up no i never really come across their weird covers like uh the sound of silence and stuff oh
[0:43:19] Nick: yeah i don't know i have heard that one
[0:43:21] Gavin: what's like uh what's the biggest disturbed normal song down with the sickness that's their that's their biggest hit yeah
[0:43:31] Andrew: oh that's them okay yeah
[0:43:33] Eric: it's the guy had uh the thing i always think about with the guy from disturbed is that he had he had the soul patch but then it's in like two like little snake bite things down the front
[0:43:52] Gavin: whoa there was he's in a computer as well look at the background he's in a computer there was never a
[0:43:58] Geoff: time when that was okay
[0:44:00] Andrew: oh you'd be upset if everyone was walking around with snake facial hair if
[0:44:04] Geoff: that's the future i don't want anything to do with the future yeah oh
[0:44:07] Andrew: you're going back to the 70s now
[0:44:08] Geoff: send me back in
[0:44:09] Eric: time i'm with you like that i don't give a fuck this is it's just such a look where my uncle who's just a dirtbag sees it and he goes hell yeah that's it right there it's like that's dude that sucks shut up
[0:44:23] Andrew: if you told me that it was a poster for characters in the chronicles of riddick i wouldn't oh 100 i wouldn't yeah yeah this is
[0:44:31] Eric: it's music for people who like the chronicles of riddick
[0:44:34] Geoff: oh man i like riddick yeah but not like this not like the way they like it that you like everybody likes chronicles of riddick it's different they like it yeah it's different
[0:44:44] Andrew: death
[0:44:44] Geoff: by
[0:44:44] Andrew: teacup and then he kills him little cup in the jail cell i
[0:44:49] Eric: can't believe we're talking about disturbed on this podcast this is gavin's in this disturbed era
[0:44:55] Gavin: oh i've just got a bit they do a bit before the chorus of the computer it's just like ah ah ah yeah yeah
[0:45:03] Eric: sound
[0:45:03] Gavin: like will smith freestyling
[0:45:09] Eric: oh i
[0:45:10] Andrew: love how much i don't hate it oh that's crazy how you feel about limp biscuits behind blue eyes oh what's that one you've never heard that one it's the who it's the behind blue eyes by the who but covered by limp biscuit very seriously it's very funny it's
[0:45:28] Eric: so is it is i feel like the music video he's inside of like a like a jail cell or something and that makes sense like he's like or in like an insane asylum or something like that like that that's what i think of with it and it's like nobody knows what it's like nobody knows what it's like serious bull fucking he has an elvis tattoo what the fuck is that a kurt cobain is that kurt cobain
[0:45:57] Unidentified: oh it
[0:45:58] Eric: is on his chest next to elvis it looks like kurt cobain it
[0:46:01] Unidentified: does
[0:46:01] Eric: look like kurt cobain in elvis
[0:46:02] Geoff: wow that can't be real they
[0:46:04] Nick: got along famously
[0:46:10] Andrew: wow such a i uh was scrolling tiktok one time and i got a random like realtor trying to sell a house thing for some reason and they used limp biscuits behind blue eyes as the backing music for their video of the tour i was like what are you doing i would not buy a house from a person that like it's fine like like what you like but just like tonally it's just so weird to just be like this is this house four bathrooms or whatever and it's just behind blue
[0:46:42] Gavin: eyes apparently in the in the last episode of this podcast jeff was telling a story about the insurance fraud thing and mentioned like oh you know it's for the cops it's just like he said she said and then and then i was talking about something i was like yeah just one of those days and we were apparently just calling
[0:47:03] Andrew: this freaking lip
[0:47:05] Gavin: biscuit song all
[0:47:06] Andrew: the time no
[0:47:07] Gavin: he did it all for the nookie i don't know what else to say
[0:47:11] Andrew: you have any update on that jeff that's like podcast
[0:47:13] Geoff: no no update i haven't heard anything from the insurance company since i gave him a statement i don't know wow shocking yeah shocking right i'm gonna guess it disappeared but i i logged into my last time i logged into the app to look it was like still you know under investigation doesn't matter to me i'm in i'm in i'm back in zen mode so i don't know you are back in zen mode oh congratulations good what's your question i
[0:47:35] Andrew: have a friend that has been re-listening to the show about this is this you is your friend you yeah it's me i'm re-listening to how dare you and he's and he's got a lot of questions he's got a lot of questions um i guess in an episode gavin very early on like when the first 10 question yes you said that uh there was a friendship that ended over something incredibly small i think the prompt was what like the smallest thing that ended a friendship is that related to uh a game raging moment we talk about that later or is there a different thing you said you would talk about it on an upcoming episode and then it never came back around
[0:48:20] Gavin: uh this could be two things because i watched a friendship end between two other people and i think i had a friendship end when i'm not sure which one i was going to talk about
[0:48:32] Eric: oh i guess you can pick one please don't be jeff please don't be jeff
[0:48:37] Gavin: the one i watched end was uh one of my friends is peeing and um then his friend was
[0:48:44] Unidentified: he in
[0:48:44] Gavin: a horse no just just on the side of a hairdresser uh the the building not the person uh he's pissing on the building and then his friend came up and pissed as well and then he just sort of swayed his stream of piss a little bit towards his friend they went on a shoe and they never spoke to each other again whoa got peed on was livid and and yelled you're dead to me and then gobbed and then like gobbed in his direction and then they were never friends anymore oh
[0:49:12] Unidentified: my
[0:49:12] Gavin: god well how old was this oh probably 18 okay okay old enough he got pissed
[0:49:20] Eric: pissed
[0:49:20] Gavin: yeah he
[0:49:21] Geoff: got
[0:49:21] Gavin: pissed he got escalated pissed damn the friendship i ended was that my friend was playing football outside uh just outside of our house it was my neighbor and um my friend bought he bought a set of cards like a yellow card and a red card and i was really excited to get a red card so i just kept like trying to do fouls and i just booted the ball in because he was being the ref and uh and it hit me right in the face and then i felt bad i was trying to get a red card but i just smashed him in the face of the football we we tried to continue our friendship like we did we were we still hung out but it was like it definitely dented the friendship a little bit
[0:50:02] Geoff: things
[0:50:03] Andrew: were different after that dented his face
[0:50:04] Gavin: yeah i still feel bad about that
[0:50:07] Andrew: he chose to be the ref
[0:50:14] Unidentified: how
[0:50:14] Andrew: many people were in this game
[0:50:17] Gavin: uh probably few it was i think it was 2v2 and he was the ref it
[0:50:21] Andrew: was 2v2 and he chose he like bought the red and yellow card he's really into the idea of being the ref yeah
[0:50:27] Gavin: he had a shirt the black white shirt i think it was just because that's so funny well i mean people do become refs i think it's natural i just had never
[0:50:35] Andrew: thought of like how old were you oh seven
[0:50:39] Gavin: maybe
[0:50:39] Andrew: yeah like being seven and being like i'm gonna i'm gonna grow up to be a ref one day i think it's hilarious it's reading the rules and the cba for the thing he's
[0:50:51] Gavin: like eight well i think when you've got so few people like 3v2 it's just like it's not a not a workable game if you're the ref you can still hang out with us
[0:50:59] Geoff: i will say i remember when i was in high school my friend and i would ref like church games on sundays and it was a lot of fun i remember looking forward to it
[0:51:08] Gavin: yeah i think we would all take it in turns to be ref but he was the only one with the gear
[0:51:13] Andrew: do you think this has impacted how you view refs as an adult watching sports jeff me more sympathy yeah do i
[0:51:20] Geoff: think i have more sympathy because gavin lost a friendship that's the first i'd heard of it it didn't know you're talking
[0:51:26] Andrew: about
[0:51:26] Geoff: being a ref in the church i never really thought about it until this moment it impacted me it's so little it's a memory that i hadn't had and uh in probably 30 years until it was just jogged by gavin mentioning this i
[0:51:38] Andrew: feel like you'd be a menace of a ref respectfully jeff thank you i
[0:51:41] Unidentified: think
[0:51:41] Andrew: you'd be just throwing calls out there just to mess with people
[0:51:45] Geoff: i also have no sympathy towards any form of authority
[0:51:51] Andrew: yeah i'm a self-hating ref
[0:51:53] Geoff: pretty much pretty much across the board any authority figure uh once the word authority is involved i lose sympathy it just is what it but
[0:52:02] Gavin: you've you've been an authority
[0:52:04] Geoff: yeah i fucking hate it
[0:52:09] Andrew: were there any challenge flags i guess then that's like a football thing american there's no challenges in in like european football right coaches can't throw a red flag demand that the ref double check his work no i mean there's like var right yeah you can like did you have
[0:52:26] Gavin: var gav
[0:52:26] Eric: when
[0:52:26] Gavin: you guys were
[0:52:27] Eric: playing
[0:52:27] Gavin: you
[0:52:27] Eric: had var yeah your front yard did
[0:52:29] Gavin: you have var that's what i should have done i should just sat there with a camcorder oh i missed an opportunity i didn't really wasn't any good at football you might have saved a few friendships
[0:52:43] Andrew: the concept that instead of one of you would just rotate out when playing but instead i was like no i'll be the ref i got this ref thing down i wonder if they grew up to be a ref
[0:52:53] Unidentified: uh
[0:52:53] Gavin: oh shit try and find out i
[0:52:55] Andrew: wonder how far their reffing went did it never go past that line or do you think they reffed like college games well maybe
[0:53:07] Gavin: oh what if me chipping the ball into him was uh what got him out of the game
[0:53:12] Andrew: you ruined his dream of being a ref you realize this is a dangerous career
[0:53:17] Geoff: oh shit do you think you've genuinely ruined anybody's dreams at some point in your life on accident we everybody probably has at some point i don't think so you definitely have trying
[0:53:29] Andrew: to think of the context in which i could have even accomplished that i don't i don't think i've ever been in a scenario in which
[0:53:34] Geoff: you don't think you ruined jake's dreams of being on snl yeah
[0:53:38] Andrew: okay
[0:53:41] Geoff: judge judy
[0:53:45] Gavin: done and done and done hey you got me i had someone ruin my dream but i think it just spurred me on a little bit more i was talking to a i was filming something i was working on some advert on a golf course and the director of photography was telling me that he works mainly in america and i was like oh yeah do you have like a oh one visa for that and he was like yeah yeah and i was like oh yeah i'm trying to get one of them and he was just like oh no no you that's they're very difficult to get i don't think you i don't think you can you're quite young and i don't think you'll get one of those i was just like oh jesus
[0:54:20] Eric: what the fuck
[0:54:22] Gavin: and i was i was i was bummed about that for probably two months jesus christ but it it's spurred me on to try and get one harder i think yeah take that gary oh
[0:54:35] Eric: shit name it is ass hell yeah dude that's what i'm talking about use your platform buddy
[0:54:40] Andrew: you think gary's been listening to 200 episodes being like oh i hope i don't get called out
[0:54:45] Eric: he's nervous he listens every week and he's scared
[0:54:51] Andrew: the other thing that came up in the podcast i guess was uh jeff you lost your pinky toenail and you're scared to see if it even existed have you ever confirmed that you have a new pinky toe
[0:55:01] Geoff: uh that gets that gets resolved in episode at some point okay uh if your friend continues to listen but yes i i don't know like four or five months later i looked at my foot and it was back and fine yeah
[0:55:12] Eric: good been
[0:55:13] Geoff: and it's been back ever since never no more issues congratulations i like these loose ends we
[0:55:19] Andrew: gotta you tie up the loose ends gotta tie up the loose ends yeah well you don't love loose ends you love the tying of the you don't yeah just to be clear yeah
[0:55:28] Gavin: i don't like but you
[0:55:29] Andrew: you yeah you
[0:55:30] Geoff: can't tie an end if it's not loose though you know that is true you need it loose to be tied chicken and egg situation yeah it's tough
[0:55:38] Andrew: if there are any loose ends i guess let us know in the that's don't do that
[0:55:43] Eric: that's oh boy these comments are gonna be nuts we're nothing but loose ends dude this is the loose ends pod tied a lot of stuff we don't tie up we do i
[0:55:51] Geoff: have loose ends notes in my my notes for this episode right now really
[0:55:55] Eric: oh can we tie some
[0:55:57] Geoff: ends yeah things things i want to these are just i have a section called hanging chads these are things i want us to not forget about okay regulation wrestling i thought was awesome and i want us to stay on top of that wow really okay thank you okay audience loved it comments were fantastic and i it's one of those things where it's like we put the episode out and then it's like oh fuck if we don't record one now it could be three months before the next one comes out and so i want to stay on top of that i wrote bit barrel but i it uh it actually auto corrected to butt barrel and now i want one barrel to be a different thing that we can figure out uh i want to continue the nba series at least one more episode so we can play with bogle jub oh yeah uh i want to make sure we don't miss out on that uh the pinball machine is fixed so i want to do a pinball tournament now okay and we want to we want gavin to eat butter these are just bits that have been uh
[0:56:48] Andrew: why does gavin need to eat butter
[0:56:51] Geoff: see if i can tell yeah see if he can determine if it's butter or margarine oh i see yes i remember
[0:56:56] Eric: that oh that's right
[0:56:58] Geoff: these are good loose ends these are good loose ends these are just the little things in the periphery that i just don't want us to lose steam on you know
[0:57:05] Gavin: you know our constant tracking where now we're going to move on to pizza and and now we're not so fussed about what the the average is across the nation but we reset the average yeah we're creating the average do you think we should call it extra median i
[0:57:23] Andrew: like extra you know what's interesting about the pizza thing is i feel like more than burgers there's a such a variation of what can be on it oh my god the concept of how much like how much food a certain person could eat in the same measurement is fascinating to me there could be somebody who exclusively eats cheese pizza and then there are people that may exclusively eat deluxe pizza which is like every topping the amount of volume the food volume is the difference there's
[0:57:58] Unidentified: such
[0:57:58] Andrew: a variation there's such a large range
[0:58:01] Geoff: there is i mean there are versions of that with hamburgers right like there are people that eat vegetables and then there are people like jack that exist that eat uh two pieces of bread one slice of cheese and a burger no ketchup no mustard no green no red nothing but those four items or three items sure yeah that's the equivalent of it that's the equivalent of a no cheese pizza to me but yeah oh
[0:58:23] Andrew: i know see i think like the difference between how much meat you can have on a pizza as opposed to a sheet like the bait a plain to me a plain burger to a burger with like lettuce tomato and onion on it are completely different in terms of scale you
[0:58:39] Nick: can get bacon and shit on it
[0:58:40] Andrew: that's
[0:58:40] Geoff: true but yeah onions crispy onions grilled onions fresh onions fresh jalapenos grilled jalapenos yeah we just did an episode for 100%
[0:58:50] Eric: eat where we eat like it's like a pretzel bun with beer cheese and two different kinds of mustard like you can you can really vary a burger what is beer cheese uh i think it's like a cheese rue type dip spread but it's made with uh it's like lager style beer that they use to thin it it might have pimento in it a little bit too maybe it can i think yeah this
[0:59:13] Nick: one not this one
[0:59:15] Eric: this one was weird this one we went to hop dotty and it was it was straight it
[0:59:19] Unidentified: was
[0:59:19] Eric: the greasiest burger i've ever eaten in my entire life by a mile it was crazy let
[0:59:24] Geoff: me ask you guys a question well uh what not to get into 100% eat territory but what do you guys like hop dotty
[0:59:30] Eric: how how do you feel about this is the first time we've ever gone uh the episodes out by the time this is out so it's fine um it was so disappointing the i i think i said while we were eating it i like the flavor of this burger i hate eating this burger it was the greasiest sloppiest thing that was so weird and it's just like the ambiance for that place is really strange i don't really it's like trying to be a yard house but it's not yard house i don't really care for hop dotty very much is that still a line no because i think they have so many locations i'm sure that it i'm sure it'll fill up they just opened one in muller um so yeah
[1:00:12] Geoff: there's one on anderson there's the one on congress there's one in la too uh i thought it was i i think yeah the mystique is worn off on it i think for sure
[1:00:21] Eric: definitely
[1:00:21] Geoff: i think the ordering system is annoying
[1:00:23] Eric: yeah it's it's just sort of like oh you know that's fine we did it because it was the pretzel pub burger which is very like lauded and 100% eat like lore the pretzel pub i
[1:00:35] Geoff: asked just because i feel like that was like the most hyped burger in austin for like four years and i was like there was one called the diablo though i think it's pretty good but it's not like i just never understood i never understood the lengths people would go through to get that burger it
[1:00:50] Eric: wasn't worth the line it's funny that you say four years it started in 2010 and then was sold to private equity in 2014 oh wow yeah so you're on the money for four years it's absolutely what it was some fucking that's and the jeff you know there you go way to go man good work thank
[1:01:09] Gavin: you yeah i've never been able to separate the wait time that i've had eaten there from the food experience so i've yeah i actually have no idea if i like the food i just get annoyed by the weight well
[1:01:18] Andrew: you gotta order and then show up 45 minutes light for it is the move hell yeah you get them
[1:01:24] Gavin: i once had i think i had a meeting with with uh bernie and someone else maybe like someone to do with my immigration stuff and we met them there and they had to leave to go back to the office before we sat down
[1:01:40] Andrew: well you had your meeting standing in a burger line well
[1:01:44] Gavin: the idea was to sit down but i don't think we even really had the meeting we just kind of loosely chatted about it then they had to go
[1:01:50] Unidentified: huh
[1:01:50] Andrew: i having meetings in line i i kind of like the idea of you do yeah because being in line suck and it gives you an activity to do in the line oh
[1:01:59] Gavin: it's annoying for the it's surely annoying for the other people in the line though if they're having a meeting
[1:02:04] Andrew: yeah but who like the the line is bad the line is bad for everybody yeah huh there's no difference than talking in the line the three of you just talking about whatever than having a meeting in
[1:02:16] Unidentified: the
[1:02:16] Andrew: line
[1:02:17] Gavin: sure they're all they're all meetings yeah
[1:02:19] Andrew: they're all meetings what were
[1:02:25] Geoff: you to say jeff i was gonna ask if you guys if you guys what do you think the new hop dotty in austin is right now with insufferable lines because i have i have an opinion uh all day pizza uh all day pizza does have some lines la la land i okay that's a place i'll fucking never go to probably no it's like a matcha store yeah it opened up and there's like two hours two hour lines for fucking matcha
[1:02:51] Eric: uh uh sugs bagels for a minute i think it's i think it probably mellowed out a little bit but sugs bagels had with austin texas loves a line because nobody's like yeah no one's from here and so it's i also i i thought about this i think i drafted a tweet i just have it hanging on that i i've never seen more influencers with less influence than i have right now it is they are eating
[1:03:18] Geoff: each other alive in austin right now it's wild have you seen that influencer apartment complex on rainy street yeah all the drama and controversy surrounding that place pretty cool what there's
[1:03:28] Andrew: drama around an
[1:03:29] Geoff: influencer
[1:03:30] Andrew: apartment
[1:03:31] Geoff: something about like people getting like cheap rent but not being able to deliver on views and clicks and then it like being like i don't know overpacked full of people there's all these videos of them on the weekends and the pool looks like it's the fucking uh like the hard rock pool in vegas and uh i don't know there's that every time i see a tick talk about it it's something negative about that place so
[1:03:53] Andrew: these are like kind of established people these aren't people trying to become i think it's
[1:03:58] Unidentified: probably
[1:03:58] Andrew: both i have i think it's
[1:03:59] Geoff: probably exactly yeah both yeah
[1:04:01] Eric: man it sucks i hate a line i hate a line for food makes me crazy i just can't it's not for me
[1:04:10] Geoff: there's no and listen i understand there's franklin barbecue and law law barbecue and there's a lot of really wonderful places to eat in austin yeah i there's no food on earth that's worth waiting more than 15 minutes for to me i'm with you oh it's the longest you'd wait gavin
[1:04:28] Gavin: for food uh 45 minutes really so
[1:04:37] Andrew: much longer than what jeff said i
[1:04:40] Gavin: mean if it's like uh we've had this reservation for a long time or something well why would it be waiting in the line if there's a reservation no you're right i can't really see a scenario
[1:04:48] Geoff: where like if i walk up to a restaurant and there's more than a 15 minute wait i go thank you and i just walk next door or and then next door and then that do you just go down the line do you find the place that nobody likes that seats you immediately yeah
[1:05:02] Gavin: yeah i guess it was just the only place yeah
[1:05:05] Andrew: i don't know i'm uh 15 minutes is a while i guess it depends it depends on the food the their context in which i'd go above 15 minutes but it's very rare
[1:05:14] Eric: i'll wait half an hour for dinner i won't wait for breakfast i'll let you agree with that the
[1:05:21] Geoff: the context is if you're with other people and it's their thing and you're just along for the ride i'll wait for an hour and a half with my in-laws if that's the you know that's what's happening but if i'm in charge if it's my deal if i'm jeff by myself yeah or i'm jeff with one other person um yeah i will put my foot down yeah i'll be a big baby about it see the scale
[1:05:41] Andrew: completely flips for me if i'm the other person if i'm the person if everyone's going to my thing and there is a five minute wait i'm pulling the shoe i am i would have such anxiety about making other people wait for my thing oh
[1:05:55] Geoff: five minutes all right i think most people have no problem waiting my wife will happily wait an hour at a restaurant if that's wow i just i'm not that i just i don't have that kind of patience in anything
[1:06:03] Gavin: yeah andrew used to used to wait by the bagel shop didn't
[1:06:08] Unidentified: you
[1:06:08] Gavin: back in the day i did but i never needed to oh
[1:06:12] Andrew: wait what will you do it wait
[1:06:14] Unidentified: what
[1:06:14] Andrew: i was more prepared than i needed to be for sure
[1:06:18] Gavin: like it wasn't open
[1:06:21] Andrew: yeah like i would i would show up like maybe 30 40 minutes early and no the next person that would show up would be maybe like 10 minutes early at most what five minutes early so something i did a lot i realized the the i did the calculations and adjusted in the future but yeah there are definite times where i'm like i had get here early because things sell out quick and i was way too early
[1:06:46] Geoff: a kid's been standing outside for an hour again we just let him sit inside and wait what
[1:06:54] Gavin: would you what would you do just stand there
[1:06:56] Andrew: i would and i would just sit i just there is kind of like an area in the front because it was it was gated it's like a lock gate you had to get through it wasn't open yet so i just sat sort of a public gun on some uh on some like brick sitting on the brick
[1:07:13] Geoff: what's your current bagel situation like that was such a big part of your life and then it was a part of regulation for face at least for a little bit absolutely and i don't have any idea what your bagel your day-to-day bagel i'm
[1:07:25] Andrew: not really
[1:07:26] Geoff: bageling anymore
[1:07:28] Gavin: huh
[1:07:28] Andrew: i'm not bageling i've been kind of lost
[1:07:30] Gavin: is it just there's no there's no spot there's no good spot anymore
[1:07:33] Andrew: um
[1:07:35] Gavin: well there's a good spot but there's no brick
[1:07:37] Andrew: nearby i guess i wasn't that much of a bagel guy before that i didn't dislike them i just they weren't really my rotation and then i got super into bagels and the bagels went away and so like it's never i don't know i guess i'm still grieving in
[1:07:51] Gavin: some ways the loss of the bagel in my head i feel like you could you should just be able to walk around and find your next bagel spot but i have no idea how your island works like i like finding out that there were no escalators blew my mind
[1:08:03] Andrew: there's so many all the bagel spots in one line it's just like the malls bagel row bagel row no yeah there are plenty of great local bakeries that that do bagels but it's just not i haven't really pursued it i feel like it's so much more lame to knowing that i was 45 minutes early for a place that had the regulation bagel like our bagel i feel like that makes it worse i feel like that makes it more embarrassing i'm like over eagle eager over eagle i'm not over over eagle
[1:08:34] Gavin: so we do really well like golf
[1:08:36] Andrew: yeah new birdie over eagle yeah and i've been like i'm kind of bagelist and also cream cheeseless i was not a cream cheese guy they made great cream cheese never had cream cheese since exiting uh that
[1:08:50] Gavin: place or that place closing i
[1:08:52] Geoff: can support
[1:08:53] Gavin: you not eating cream cheese did they move on to it to open like separate spots or is it just no neither of them went on it's just it's just dead it's just dead oh long
[1:09:03] Geoff: gone there's no like bagel dna in another bagel spot around town there is a bakery in the same
[1:09:10] Andrew: spot
[1:09:11] Geoff: and
[1:09:12] Andrew: i believe they make bagels oh wait oh
[1:09:17] Gavin: wait the place the place where you still get the early sit on your bricks there's you can still get bagels there probably oh you gotta get down there andrew
[1:09:29] Andrew: i've i've been there see if they'll make a see if they'll make the bagel i've tried there's some of their stuff and i enjoy it but um but not that bagel now that was the place that my mom can't go into now because there is a donut place uh downtown that uh what's it called milk jam i think and they make really good donuts they do like um the cronut type thing as well it's like it's high-end like bakery type place and uh they make great donuts and then this place is called misty pines that moved into the old my hubby's bagel location started selling donuts and they offered my mom a donut and she's like you know who has really good donuts this place she just said a different place to them and was so embarrassed and now i don't know if she's ever gone back there they're like you want a donut you want to try one of our donuts and she's like no i don't i don't want to but you know who does have good
[1:10:29] Andrew: donuts
[1:10:30] Unidentified: i
[1:10:33] Gavin: forgot about that oh my god
[1:10:35] Unidentified: did
[1:10:35] Gavin: it just slip out and now she was like she's like mortified by it
[1:10:38] Andrew: yeah absolutely yeah it just slipped out and it is the thing she's mortified by oh i think she
[1:10:42] Eric: can i think she can go back no i just looked up i just looked up misty pines and i'm seeing people say guess who has the best bagel in all of vancouver island whoa so something to think about the whole island that's what it says that's what this influencer says i'm influenced oh you're influenced by the influencer it worked lower their rent
[1:11:04] Geoff: yeah get them a discount
[1:11:08] Andrew: look i'm looking i'm i'm seeing right now with i'm not seeing any bagels oh that's a good looking bagel except for the
[1:11:15] Geoff: white shit
[1:11:16] Unidentified: what do you mean
[1:11:17] Geoff: the white shit is the bad part but the rest
[1:11:19] Andrew: of
[1:11:20] Unidentified: it
[1:11:20] Andrew: is good oh dude don't i oh i guess you can only get the bagels as a sandwich are you surprised nick
[1:11:26] Nick: i mean yeah a little i know you don't like white shit but
[1:11:29] Geoff: it's what's whiter than cream cheese but what what's the rest of your thought nick
[1:11:33] Nick: it's good no
[1:11:37] Eric: unfortunately food it was good i eat it believe it talk to nick about food he'll tell you that all food can be good it
[1:11:43] Nick: can be good you're just picky okay
[1:11:45] Eric: can be good unfortunately i'm not picking cream cheese i don't think that's controversial i have to hear about this from nick all the time about how all food can be good it's
[1:11:56] Nick: good i
[1:11:57] Eric: want to see
[1:11:57] Gavin: now nick presents jeff's white gauntlet jeff on white listen
[1:12:07] Geoff: i'm gonna tell you something right now you motherfucker yeah this is like you know how like we don't joke about eric putting his arm in the thing that constricts it because it freaks them out anymore if you want me if you want me to eat white shit it's gonna have to be some sort of a stretch goal the audience buys us a private jet or so i'd like there's no fucking way i'm putting a variety of white things in my mouth unless it's for significant something because that is like buddy's that's like yes that's like fucking luke skywalker going to the dagobah system and having to confront darth vader in the fucking in the jungle in the swamps yeah i'm and finding out it's himself i'm not gonna look into a fucking vat of cream cheese and see myself looking back at me i'm not doing that unless it's something unless it's life changing
[1:13:00] Andrew: money okay
[1:13:01] Nick: reflective
[1:13:01] Andrew: what if it was the whitest room you go like it's just the whitest things all in one it's the white room it's limp biscuit playing behind blue eyes if i don't have to lick anything in that room i'm fine all the walls are white what
[1:13:14] Gavin: if you're blindfolded and you have to determine is it white
[1:13:17] Nick: oh and what if it's a punishment
[1:13:18] Gavin: no
[1:13:20] Andrew: i think declaring yeah what if it's a punishment what i've been white
[1:13:26] Geoff: you motherfucker what
[1:13:28] Nick: i'm just think just thinking out loud what if it's white doesn't have to be a
[1:13:31] Geoff: punishment and is if if it's a punishment then i have no choice but to adhere to the rules of face off
[1:13:40] Nick: just thinking just thinking i
[1:13:42] Geoff: won't i won't i won't fight that because that i am required to fulfill the punishment and that what no matter what it is
[1:13:48] Gavin: there's nothing about is it white that says you have to taste it either you can you can sniff
